Pioneering Jamaican deejay BIG YOUTH has announced a show at the Jazz Café in North London this summer.
In 2006 BIG YOUTH put out an album called Musicology on Vizion Sounds.
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Jamaica’s independence from the UK, London’s IndigO2 will play host to the Jamaica 50 Festival this summer.
The 11-day event is set to feature an eclectic mix of reggae artists from YELLOWMAN to GYPTIAN, DAMIAN MARLEY to LUCIANO, and SLY AND ROBBIE to BIG YOUTH.
Even more artists have been added to the 2011 line-up of the Reggae Sun Ska Festival, taking place in south-western France next month.
Newly added artists include ETANA, BIG YOUTH MEETS MAD PROFESSOR IN DUB featuring THE UPSETTERS, DUBTONIC KRU, ISHMEL MCANUFF, HALL UNI SON featuring ECHO MINOTT, JOSEPH COTTON / HUMBLE I / DJ AKADEMY and WICKED SYSTEM.
