DENNIS ALCAPONE & WINSTON FRANCIS line up Studio One show

ROOTIKAL will next month hosts its annual salute to Jamaican record label Studio One, featuring live PAs from DENNIS ALCAPONE and WINSTON FRANCIS.

WINSTON FRANCIS started his recording career at Studio One in the late 1960s with tracks like “Mr Fix-It”, “Groovy Situation” and later “Let's Go To Zion”.

Jamaican singer WINSTON FRANCIS will perform with DESMOND DEKKER’S band THE ACES at next month’s Skagate Festival in Margate.

SKAVILLE UK with RODDY RADIATION will also be appearing at the festival along with KING HAMMOND, NICK WELSH and SKA SHACK, among others.

The big show takes place on 13 September at Kingsmeadow Live! in Kingston with tickets priced at £15 in advance.

PRINCE FATTY’s Rub a Dub Club special in Brixton next month will include performances from DENNIS ALCAPONE featuring WINSTON REEDY and WINSTON FRANCIS.

The reggae legends will be nicing up the ‘Rub­a­Dub’ dance, playing classic Studio One selections with the backing of a full live band.

ROOTIKAL salutes 50 years of STUDIO ONE with DENNIS ALCAPONE & WINSTON FRANCIS

The ROOTIKAL crew are saluting 50 years of Jamaican record label Studio One with live PAs from WINSTON FRANCIS and DENNIS ALCAPONE.

The big show takes place at the East Village Club in London on 12 April and the music policy for the evening is strictly COXSONE DODD productions.

British producer PRINCE FATTY has dropped his third full-length album, Prince Fatty Versus the Drunken Gambler, available now.

The 10-track concept album includes both originals and covers, mixing “hip hop fantasy and reggae reality”.
