DAMIAN MARLEY to play Bestival

Jamaican singer DAMIAN “JR. GONG” MARLEY will perform live at Bestival this year on the Isle of Wight.

The big festival also features the likes of DAVID RODIGAN, WILEY and MAJOR LAZER, among many others.

Bestival takes place on 8-11 September at Robin Hill Country Park, near Arreton, with weekend tickets priced at £190.

MAJOR LAZER to headline Lovebox

Electro-reggae group MAJOR LAZER will headline the Lovebox main stage this summer.

The festival takes place on 15-16 July at Victoria Park, London, with tickets priced at £78.50 in advance.

In 2015 MAJOR LAZER put out an album called Peace Is The Mission.

VP Records’ Strictly The Best series hits 50

Independent reggae label VP Records will shortly put out the latest volume in its Strictly The Best compilation album series.

According to the Jamaica Observer, on 25 November VP will release volumes 50 and 51 of the series.

Bestival reveals Reggae Roots stage

The organisers of the UK’s Bestival have announced a brand new stage for the 2014 event called Reggae Roots.

The new stage will be dedicated to the myriad flavours of reggae from ska, rocksteady and ragga to dub, dancehall and junglist riddims.

Bestival regulars REGGAE ROAST, TAYO and JIM8TRACK will be residents throughout the weekend.

Warehouse Project will not take place in full in 2014

The Warehouse Project, a series of dance music events in Manchester, will not run its usual full programme in 2014.

The series takes a break for one year following a death at one of this year's events.

Warehouse Project line-up revealed: LEE PERRY, DAVID RODIGAN & MAJOR LAZER

The Warehouse Project has announced its initial line-up for 2013 including performances from LEE “SCRATCH” PERRY, DAVID RODIGAN and MAJOR LAZER, among many others.

The Warehouse Project takes place at the Victoria Warehouse in Manchester, and offers up 15 weeks of music from 27 September to 1 January 2014, with tickets priced from £20 to £28.50 dependant on the event.

The second full-length album by MAJOR LAZER, Free the Universe, is set for release tomorrow (15 April).

The new record, out on Mad Decent, features appearances by a host of Jamaican artists including ELEPHANT MAN, VYBZ KARTEL and BUSY SIGNAL, among many others.

MAJOR LAZER lines up London show at Brixton Academy

Following a blistering set on the West Holts Stage at Glastonbury and with new single “Bubble Butt” out now, MAJOR LAZER will be coming back to the UK for a big headline show at O2 Academy Brixton.

The South London show takes place on 9 November with tickets on sale from 2 August at 9am, priced at £22.50.

US singer SNOOP LION has unveiled a video for the track “La, La, La” - his first since changing direction from rapper to reggae artist.

The track is off his upcoming album and documentary, Reincarnation, which in due for release in February 2013.

Culture Clash 2012 announced: MAJOR LAZER, CHANNEL ONE & more

Red Bull Culture Clash has revealed its 2012 line-up, featuring MAJOR LAZER, CHANNEL ONE, MAGNETIC MAN and BOY BETTER KNOW for a Wembley Arena showdown.

The annual Culture Clash event is now in its third year bringing together fans, performers and collectives from dubstep, dub, reggae, dancehall, grime and drum n bass.

SNOOP LION releases new single 'La La La'

US rapper SNOOP DOGG, now known as SNOOP LION, has teamed up with producer Diplo (via the Major Lazer project) to release a new reggae single, titled “La La La”.

The track is off an upcoming album of reggae songs, Reincarnated, which will be released later this year on the Vice label.

Earlier this year Snoop said he would be "re-born" on his next album and that despite being 11 albums into his career, his fans have yet to see the real him.
