SEAN PAUL cancels concert over death threat

Jamaican dancehall artist SEAN PAUL has cancelled a New Year's Eve show in the Maldives following death threats.

A statement on his Facebook page reads:

“As a Jamaican reggae musician, I have always promoted love and unity of all cultures, races and religions.


Best Reggae Album Grammy nominations revealed

The nominations for the Grammy Awards 2015 can now be revealed including shortlisted acts in the ‘Best Reggae Album’ category.

The shortlist includes:


VP Records’ Strictly The Best series hits 50

Independent reggae label VP Records will shortly put out the latest volume in its Strictly The Best compilation album series.

According to the Jamaica Observer, on 25 November VP will release volumes 50 and 51 of the series.


Atlantic Records drops SEAN PAUL

US label Atlantic Records has reportedly dropped dancehall artist SEAN PAUL after more than a decade together.

The Jamaican performer is now labelled as a ‘legacy’ artist on the Atlantic Records website.


New SEAN PAUL album details revealed

Jamaican dancehall artist SEAN PAUL will unveil his new album, Full Frequency, on 4 November.

His seventh album to date includes a number of collaborations with local and international acts including NICKI MINAJ, DAMIAN MARLEY and KONSHENS.

Following the release of Tomahawk Technique in January last year, Full Frequency will be released in stores as well as via iTunes and other digital music outlets via Atlantic Records.

MOBO ‘Best Reggae’ winner revealed

Jamaican dancehall artist SEAN PAUL has walked away with another Music of Black Origin (MOBO) award in the ‘Best Reggae’ category.

He was up against tough competition with the likes of MAVADO, POPCAAN, STYLO G and TARRUS RILEY all shortlisted for the 2013 ceremony. 


Dancehall producer ROACH shot dead

Jamaican dancehall producer Patrick Samuels, better known as ROACH, has been found dead along Manning Hill Road in Kingston.

According to the Jamaica Observer, the producer was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds, and was killed by unknown assailants in the early hours of the morning.


MOBO Awards 2013: ‘Best Reggae’ shortlist unveiled

The shortlists for the Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards 2013 can now be revealed, including four Jamaican-raised artists and STYLO G representing the UK.

SEAN PAUL to play London and Manchester: Tickets on sale today

Jamaican superstar SEAN PAUL will play two big shows this summer in Manchester and London. Tickets are on sale from today (26 April) at 9am.

The dates are:

  • 05 June - O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire, London
  • 06 June - The Ritz, Manchester

Tickets cost £32 for the London show and £28.25 for Manchester, exluding booking fees.

Jamaican dancehall artist SEAN PAUL has bagged another number one song marking his 22nd entry on the British charts, the most ever by a Jamaican act.

SEAN PAUL guests on pop group THE SATURDAYS’ new single “What About Us”, which reached the number one spot this week.

JIMMY CLIFF takes home Grammy Award with Rebirth

Jamaican music legend JIMMY CLIFF has walked away with the ‘Best Reggae Album’ Grammy Award for his latest record Rebirth, which is out on UMe/Sunpower.



The 55th annual Grammy awards nominees in the ‘Best Reggae Album’ category can now be revealed.

Whittled down from a pool of 54, the shortlist now includes the following albums:

The track, which features ALEXIS JORDAN and taken from Tomahawk Technique, makes SEAN PAUL the first Jamaican artist to reach the milestone.
