The Guardian has put out its latest reggae, dancehall and soca playlist featuring MAVADO, MACHEL MONTANO and ALAINE.

MONTANO delivers another high-quality soca track with “Temperature”, while KERWIN DU BOIS featuring PATRICE ROBERTS deliver more soca vibes with “Unforgettable”.

Trinidadian singer MACHEL MONTANO has announced a big show this summer at the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith.

The show takes place on 28 August with tickets priced at £51.75 in advance.

Trinidadian soca star MACHEL MONTANO will be making a last minute stop in the UK next week including an intimate gig in the capital.

The unexpected “pop up concert” takes place on 21 July at the Scala with tickets priced at £30 in advance.


MACHEL MONTANO gets £3k fine, spared prison

Soca musician MACHEL MONTANO has been ordered to pay fines and compensation totalling TT$27,200 (£2,780) for “assault occasioning actual bodily harm” and using obscene language.

MONTANO has, however, managed to avoid any more time behind bars.


MACHEL MONTANO assault sentencing postponed

Soca musician MACHEL MONTANO will soon find out his fate after a judge in Trinidad and Tobago deferred his sentencing on an assault charge.

With carnival season edging nearer, magistrate Maureen Baboolal-Gafoor pushed back his and Kernel Roberts' sentencing on Thursday (17 January) to 25 February.


MACHEL MONTANO found guilty on assault charges

Trinidadian soca artist MACHEL MONTANO has been found guilty on five criminal charges in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.

As reported in the Trinidad Express, Montano, Kernel Roberts (son of Calypso singer LORD KITCHENER); Joel “Zan” Feveck and Rodney “Benjai” LeBlanc were all charged with a series of criminal offences arising from a violent incident outside the Zen nightclub in April 2007.
