LEVI ROOTS gets ready for restaurant opening

Reggae singer and entrepreneur LEVI ROOTS will shortly launch a Caribbean restaurant in Stratford’s Westfield shopping centre, East London.

According to his Twitter, Levi Roots’ Caribbean Smokehouse is due to open next month and is being developed in partnership with Las Iguanas co-founder Eren Ali.

In July the Reggae Reggae sauce creator put out an album called Rise Above.

LEVI ROOTS lines up Jazz Café album party

British-Jamaican reggae musician and entrepreneur LEVI ROOTS will be putting on an album launch party in London next month.

The Dragon’s Den star and MOBO nominated musician will be releasing his new record Rise Above.

The show takes place on 22 July at the Jazz Café with tickets priced at £10 in advance.

‘RasTa: A Soul's Journey’ - new film coming soon

A new documentary featuring BOB MARLEY’s eldest grandchild, Donisha Prendergast, is having its world premiere next week and will soon be available on general release.

RasTa: A Soul's Journey’ will show at the Festival du Nouveau Cinéma (FNC) in Montreal, Canada, on 18 October, with a repeat on 20 October.

The film is an exploration of the world of Rastafari and the inspiration behind BOB MARLEY's music.

A new film documenting the ‘platinum era’ of the UK reggae sound system, featuring SAXON STUDIO and COXSONE SOUND, is now available to view for a limited period.

GYPTIAN & BUSTA RHYMES destroy Wembley: videos available

US rapper BUSTA RHYMES and rising dancehall artist GYPTIAN stole the show at the One Love Peace Festival at Wembley Arena on Sunday.

Both artists managed to whip the 12,000-stong crowd into a frenzy amid deafening whistle-blowing and screams.

Other standout performances from the day came from ETANA, Sir JOHN HOLT and SEAN PAUL who all drew in large crowds and didn’t suffer the same arena acoustic problems that other bands experienced throughout the day.

Reggae stars descend on the UK

International reggae artists SHAGGY, SEAN PAUL, GYPTIAN, THE ABYSSINIANS and ETANA have hit UK soil ahead of the One Love Peace Festival at Wembley Arena tomorrow.

SHAGGY was on ITV breakfast show Daybreak this week to talk about his performance at the event. You can check it out here.
