Bestival reveals Reggae Roots stage

The organisers of the UK’s Bestival have announced a brand new stage for the 2014 event called Reggae Roots.

The new stage will be dedicated to the myriad flavours of reggae from ska, rocksteady and ragga to dub, dancehall and junglist riddims.

Bestival regulars REGGAE ROAST, TAYO and JIM8TRACK will be residents throughout the weekend.

This month DJ RICHIE BLOOD delivers another hour of the best in dancehall, dub, jungle and reggae to get you warmed up as the summer season kicks off.

The June podcast blazes a trail showcasing brand new dancehall riddims including Stephen “Di Genius” McGregor’s Bassline Riddim, Aurora Skies Riddim Pt.2 and Dre Skull’s Loudspeaker Riddim.


GYPTIAN & BUSTA RHYMES destroy Wembley: videos available

US rapper BUSTA RHYMES and rising dancehall artist GYPTIAN stole the show at the One Love Peace Festival at Wembley Arena on Sunday.

Both artists managed to whip the 12,000-stong crowd into a frenzy amid deafening whistle-blowing and screams.

Other standout performances from the day came from ETANA, Sir JOHN HOLT and SEAN PAUL who all drew in large crowds and didn’t suffer the same arena acoustic problems that other bands experienced throughout the day.


Reggae stars descend on the UK

International reggae artists SHAGGY, SEAN PAUL, GYPTIAN, THE ABYSSINIANS and ETANA have hit UK soil ahead of the One Love Peace Festival at Wembley Arena tomorrow.
