RHODA DAKAR gets ready for Sheffield show

2Tone ska singer RHODA DAKAR will perform live with her band this weekend in Sheffield.

The show takes place on 19 March at The Embassy Club in Sheffield and includes support from SMILING IVY and STEEL CITY RHYTHM.

Back in the late 1970s and early 1980s Dakar was the lead singer of THE BODYSNATCHERS.

Ska singer RHODA DAKAR will perform a special show in London this summer.

The gig takes place on 18 June at the 100 Club with tickets priced £15 in advance.

Dakar was the lead singer of ska band THE BODYSNATCHERS back in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

Ska singer RHODA DAKAR has been added as support to Public Image Ltd (PIL) at its upcoming Bristol and London shows.

The dates are:

  • 25 Sep - O2 Academy, Bristol
  • 02 Oct - Shepherds Bush Empire, London

DAKAR will be performing her Rhoda Dakar sings The Bodysnatchers album.

2Tone ska singer RHODA DAKAR will perform a Halloween special this autumn at the Jazz Café in London.

The Rhoda Dakar Sings The Bodysnatchers official album launch show takes place on 31 October at the famous London venue with tickets priced at £15 in advance.

RHODA DAKAR added to Godiva Festival

Ska singer RHODA DAKAR is among the latest acts confirmed for this year’s Godiva Festival.

The three-day free festival, which takes place on 3-5 July at War Memorial Park in Coventry, also features performances from reggae acts THE SKINTS, DREADZONE, THE BEAT and THE KUBRICKS.

HORACE PANTER's UPTOWN SKA COLLECTIVE, RHODA DAKAR singing THE BODYSNATCHERS and BEAT GOES BANG featuring EVERETT MORTON make up an amazing triple bill of 2Tone stars this April.

The special show is part of the London International Ska Festival and also features a guest appearance by trombonist RICO RODRIGUEZ.

The London International Ska Festival has arranged a SPECIALS pre-show party in London this November featuring an acoustic set from RHODA DAKAR.

The show takes place on 15 November at the Barfly in Camden with tickets priced at just £6.50.

The London International Ska Festival has announced RHODA DAKAR will be joining the top line-up of artists at this year’s event.

The BODYSNATCHERS and SPECIAL AKA lead singer will be performing live with the PHOENIX CITY ALL-STARS at the Jazz Café on 19 April, along with the brilliant JAZZ JAMAICA.

LONDON INTL SKA FESTIVAL teams up with SPECIALIZED

The London International Ska Festival has teamed up with the Specialized charity project and will be donating £10 from every four-day festival ticket sold this month.

Last year THE SPECIALS-inspired charity project raised more than £25,000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

The latest addition to the London Intl Ska Fest: KEN BOOTHE

Jamaican superstar KEN BOOTHE returns to the London International Ska Festival with a headline performance at Dingwalls in Camden Town.

The Easter Sunday show takes place on the fourth day of the festival (31 March) where BOOTHE will be joined by 100 MEN starring MIK WHITNALL and a DJ set from POTATO 5.

More artists have been revealed for the 2013 London International Ska Festival including FREDDIE NOTES, LYNVAL GOLDING and RHODA DAKAR.

The event is heating up to be one of the most exciting festivals of 2013, and features new additions to the line-up such as MAROON TOWN, BUSTER SHUFFLE, CELLOS COAST TO COAST and SKYLARKIN SOUND SYSTEM.

DANDY LIVINGSTONE hit with food poisoning: pulls out of 40yr comeback show

Jamaican reggae legend DANDY LIVINGSTONE was struck down with food poisoning last night forcing him to pull out of his 40-year comeback show at the London International Ska Festival.

The "Rudy A Message To You" singer was taken ill, however his no-show was announced just 25 minutes before the 10pm curfew at the Islington Academy.

According to the DJ that had to make the onstage announcement,  an "official announcement" will be made today.
