Roots reggae group TALISMAN will be performing at The Thelka in Bristol this weekend as part of their tour of the UK.

Support on the night, 13 October, comes from DAN RATCHET along with a PENG SOUND DJ set.

London’s Hootananny confirms new reggae shows

KOFI, SUSAN CADOGAN and THE MIGHTY DIAMONDS are among the latest live additions to the Hootananny pub in South London.

Full details revealed for Bristol Reggae Explosion Live CD/DVD

Bristol Archive Records is set to release ‘The Bristol Reggae Explosion Live 2012’ on 3 June with all profits donated to the St. Paul’s Carnival (6 July).

The 17-track CD and 11-track DVD, which will also be available as digital downloads, feature performances from various artists from the Bristol reggae scene.

The 'Bristol Reggae Explosion Live' finally made it to the Big Top at Temple Meads’ Creative Common this weekend, and proved to be one of the greatest reggae shows of 2012.

The night was a result of the success of the Bristol Reggae Explosion compilation series, which led by Mike Darby, brought classic Bristol reggae recordings back to life after years in the vault.

St Pauls Carnival alternative line-up revealed: BUGGSY, DAN RATCHET, LAID BLAK & DJ DEREK

The full information and artist line-up can now be revealed for the 2gether As One festival in Bristol after the St Pauls Carnival was scrapped last month.

The carnival alternative takes place on 7 July (the weekend the carnival was due to be held) from 2pm until 6am the following day across eight clubs in Stokes Croft.

JOSHUA MOSES live at the Fleece in Bristol

Roots reggae artist JOSHUA (JASHWHA) MOSES performed a long-overdue comeback show last night (26 May) at the Fleece after 30 years “in the wilderness”.

Fan-filmed video footage of the show can be viewed below.

His return to the stage was marked with a headline show following the release of his highly acclaimed album Joshua to Jashwha – 30 Years In the Wilderness, released by Bristol Archive Records last month.

Bristol Reggae Explosion 3 hits the shelves

Bristol Archive Records has released the third instalment in a series of classic reggae from the city, entitled Bristol Reggae Explosion 3 – The 80’s Part 2.

The 15-track album, of which 11 are previously unreleased, is arguably the strongest of the three-part collection and has a strong leaning towards the roots side of reggae.
