ASWAD lines up another UK date

London roots reggae band ASWAD has added a live show in Eastleigh to its upcoming touring itinerary.

ASWAD books London show in autumn 2016

British roots reggae band ASWAD has already lined up a North London show in October next year.

After selling out their previous three Jazz Café shows, ASWAD returns to the venue on 1 October 2016 with tickets priced at £20 in advance.



The Duke of Cambridge presented former ASWAD frontman BRINSLEY FORDE with an MBE at Windsor Castle today.

Prince William also told the reggae musician he has a secret musical talent - playing the bass guitar.

FORDE said after the event: “I've just got a new bass player - you might know him as the Duke of Cambridge.”

British reggae band ASWAD will pay tribute to revolutionary artist, poet and civil rights activist Gil Scott-Heron at a special concert in Liverpool this summer.

British reggae outfit ASWAD will perform in Bristol next month at the Marble Factory, part of the Motion complex near Temple Meads.

The organisers of the Lambeth Country Show have revealed more of the reggae acts for next month’s big event.

West London reggae group ASWAD will perform a special show at Camden Town’s Jazz Café this coming December.

Following a sold out show in March, the Ladbroke Grove group returns to the famous North London venue on 6 December, with tickets priced at £20 in advance.

ASWAD to headline Lambeth Country Show

The organisers of London’s Lambeth Country Show have revealed ASWAD will headline their main stage at this year’s event.

The 40th annual Lambeth Country Show takes place on 19-20 July in Brockwell Park and entry for the weekend is completely free.

ASWAD will headline the festival on the Sunday evening (20 July).


ASWAD announces show at London’s Jazz Café

British reggae band ASWAD has announced a live performance next year at the Jazz Café in North London.

The Ladbroke Grove group, now made up of core members Angus "Drummie Zeb" Gaye and Tony "Gad" Robinson, was formed in the mid-1970s and remain one of the UK’s best loved reggae bands.


BRINSLEY FORDE lines up Manchester show

Reggae singer BRINSLEY FORDE, a founding member of ASWAD, is set to perform in Manchester next month at the Band On The Wall.

The show takes place on 26 September with early bird tickets priced at £18.


CATCH A FIRE comes back to London’s Southbank Centre

ASWAD added to Magic Summer Live line-up

British roots reggae stalwarts ASWAD are among the latest additions to the Magic Summer Live festival line-up.

The Live Nation event takes place on 13-14 July at Stoke Park in Guildford, Surrey, with tickets priced at £60 per day.



The first wave of artists can now be revealed for the Lounge On The Farm festival including DUB PISTOLS, ASWAD, DAVID RODIGAN and THE HEATWAVE.

The event is set to take place at Merton Farm in Canterbury, Kent, on 26-28 July.

The full details of the Lively Up! Festival tour can now be revealed - including 19 events at 17 different venues around the UK.

The exciting new tour, featuring the JAZZ JAMAICA ALL STARS, runs from 27 September to 2 November.

It will celebrate some of Jamaica's most important cultural icons and mark the 50th anniversary of the island’s independence from the UK.

MISTY IN ROOTS live: band unveils new UK dates

Roots reggae band MISTY IN ROOTS has announced a run of live performances in the UK as part of their ‘Respect Due’ tour.

The Southall-based reggae pioneers emerged in the early 1970s and became one of the most popular English reggae bands alongside STEEL PULSE and ASWAD.

The ‘Respect Due’ tour kicks off at the end of the month and runs up until the end of October.

The 10-date tour includes:


DAVID RODIGAN radio show: part four now available

The fourth episode of BBC Radio 2’s summer reggae show featuring DAVID RODIGAN is now available for download.

This week RODIGAN looks back to the summer of 1976 when a new British reggae band had just signed to Island Records.

The band was ASWAD, residents of London’s Ladbroke Grove, and their debut single “Back to Africa” topped the British reggae charts.

Other music on the show includes 1960s Jamaican queen of rocksteady PHYLLIS DILLON and DESMOND DEKKER's first UK chart-topper.
