MISTY IN ROOTS live: band unveils new UK dates

Roots reggae band MISTY IN ROOTS has announced a run of live performances in the UK as part of their ‘Respect Due’ tour.

The Southall-based reggae pioneers emerged in the early 1970s and became one of the most popular English reggae bands alongside STEEL PULSE and ASWAD.

The ‘Respect Due’ tour kicks off at the end of the month and runs up until the end of October.

DAVID RODIGAN radio show: part four now available

The fourth episode of BBC Radio 2’s summer reggae show featuring DAVID RODIGAN is now available for download.

This week RODIGAN looks back to the summer of 1976 when a new British reggae band had just signed to Island Records.

The band was ASWAD, residents of London’s Ladbroke Grove, and their debut single “Back to Africa” topped the British reggae charts.

Other music on the show includes 1960s Jamaican queen of rocksteady PHYLLIS DILLON and DESMOND DEKKER's first UK chart-topper.

Reggae stars descend on the UK

International reggae artists SHAGGY, SEAN PAUL, GYPTIAN, THE ABYSSINIANS and ETANA have hit UK soil ahead of the One Love Peace Festival at Wembley Arena tomorrow.
