London Intl Ska Festival launches club night

The London International Ska Festival is launching a new club called 'The London Intl Ska Festival Sunday Service'.

The club night takes place every Sunday from 20 June at a Creole restaurant and basement club called the Bayou Soul in Camden.

A special invite-only launch night is set to take place on 14 June from 4pm upstairs and 7pm downstairs through to midnight, featuring DON LETTS and friends.



The PHOENIX CITY ALL-STARS single featuring Trojan Records legend FREDDIE NOTES, “I Can't Get No Satisfaction”, is out now.

The brand new single was out yesterday (28 July) and is available to download from iTunes.


RHODA DAKAR added to London Intl Ska Festival

The London International Ska Festival has announced RHODA DAKAR will be joining the top line-up of artists at this year’s event.

The BODYSNATCHERS and SPECIAL AKA lead singer will be performing live with the PHOENIX CITY ALL-STARS at the Jazz Café on 19 April, along with the brilliant JAZZ JAMAICA.


Date and venue confirmed for DERRICK MORGAN UK show

The London International Ska Festival has confirmed the ‘DERRICK MORGAN meets LAUREL AITKEN's PRESSURE TENANTS’ show will take place at Dingwalls on Easter Sunday.

The Camden gig takes place on 20 April 2014 and will also feature the PHOENIX CITY ALL-STARS, plus more acts to be confirmed soon.


PHOENIX CITY ALL-STARS gear up for Jazz Café album party

The house band for UK ska label Phoenix City Records, the PHOENIX CITY ALL-STARS, are getting ready to launch their brand new album at London’s Jazz Café next week.

The 'Hotshot & Scorcher Social Club' night (round three) will see the all-star band performing live and launching Skatisfaction - a blazing ska take on THE ROLLING STONES.


More top acts confirmed for London Intl Ska Fest

FREDDIE NOTES, the PHOENIX CITY ALL-STARS and THE DELEGATORS are the latest additions to next year’s London International Ska Festival.

The newly announced acts join a stellar line-up including legendary Jamaican duo KEITH & TEX, DERRICK MORGAN and JUNIOR MURVIN, among many others.


DAVE BARKER interviewed on Mark Radcliffe’s BBC 6 Music show

Dave “Double Barrel” Barker, of DAVE AND ANSELL COLLINS fame, joined radio DJ Mark Radcliffe on Monday to celebrate 50 years of Jamaican independence.

The long interview included him playing classic track “Monkey Spanner” alongside “I Can't Stand Up For Falling Down” from the new PHOENIX CITY ALL-STARS album Two Tone Gone Ska.

Vintage Festival cancelled next month: added to Wilderness 2012

The Vintage Festival, which was due to take place from 13-15 July at the Boughton Estate in Northamptonshire, has been cancelled. 

The festival was set to include BUSTER SHUFFLE, HOLLIE COOK, JUNIOR MURVIN, DON LETTS, PHOENIX CITY ALL-STARS and THE DELEGATORS, among many others, but low sales and the weather prevented it going ahead.


New PHOENIX CITY ALL-STARS album artwork revealed

Phoenix City Records has released the artwork for the upcoming PHOENIX CITY ALL-STARS album 2 Tone Gone Ska which is out in August/September.

Unfortunately all three PHOENIX CITY ALL-STARS July shows have been cancelled, but the band will be touring with DAVE AND ANSELL COLLINS throughout August and September.

Legendary Jamaican band DAVE AND ANSELL COLLINS will return to the UK later this year for a run of shows across the country.

The “first dates” that have been announced by the London International Ska Festival include gigs in London, Manchester, Brighton and the Isle of Wight in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Jamaican independence.


DANDY LIVINGSTONE hit with food poisoning: pulls out of 40yr comeback show

Jamaican reggae legend DANDY LIVINGSTONE was struck down with food poisoning last night forcing him to pull out of his 40-year comeback show at the London International Ska Festival.

The "Rudy A Message To You" singer was taken ill, however his no-show was announced just 25 minutes before the 10pm curfew at the Islington Academy.

According to the DJ that had to make the onstage announcement,  an "official announcement" will be made today.


London gets ready for International Ska Festival 2012: DANDY LIVINGSTONE comeback show!

The London International Ska Festival returns to the capital this weekend and features 40 top ska acts from around the world.

Among the many highlights of the bank holiday weekend (3-6 May), DANDY LIVINGSTONE is set to play his world exclusive comeback show after 40 years on 4 May at the O2 Academy Islington.


DAVE BARKER added to London International Ska Fest 2012 line-up

The London International Ska Festival has revealed the latest addition to the 2012 line-up: reggae legend DAVE BARKER, the voice of DAVE & ANSELL COLLINS.

After reuniting with Collins to perform at last year’s festival with THE CAROLOREGIANS, Barker has agreed to perform for the second year running with the PHOENIX CITY ALL-STARS.
