Lambeth Country Show reveals top reggae acts

The main stage acts for the Lambeth Country Show can now be revealed including Jamaican reggae musicians JOHNNY CLARKE, LITTLE ROY and STYLO G.

Also appearing on Sunday will be ska band CHAINSKA BRASSIKA featuring NATTY.

Saturday acts include THE CORRESPONDENTS and YOLANDA BROWN who is currently touring with ‘Reggae Love Songs’ along with a full band.

Jamaican music pioneer LEE “SCRATCH” PERRY will headline the One Love Festival in the UK this summer.

Soul-reggae crossover artist NATTY is back following the success of his debut album Man Like I, with his highly anticipated album Release the Fear.

The new record is set for release on 29 February, featuring GEORGE THE POET, ALBOROSIE and BUSY SIGNAL.

The first single of the album, “I'm Alive”, is a catchy proclamation of faith and a declaration of thanks for new times and new energies.

In addition to festival appearances and a gig in Perranporth, the North London artist is now on the bill at a fundraising event for The Hemp Trading Company (THTC) in Brixton on May Day.

BoomTown TrenchTown District revealed

STEPHEN MARLEY, SOJA and BARRINGTON LEVY are among the latest additions to this year’s BoomTown Fair TrenchTown District.

The festival takes place on 13-16 August at the Matterley Estate, near Winchester in Hampshire. Tier three tickets are priced at £155 for the weekend.

Jamaican artist RICHIE SPICE will headline a brand new festival in London later this year - City Splash Festival.

GENTLEMAN'S DUB CLUB, THE MOUSE OUTFIT, CHANNEL ONE, JAH YOUTH, NATTY and RTKAL are also among the first acts confirmed for the festival, which is billed as “celebrating the Caribbean's sound system culture in the heart of the city”.

The organisers of the UK’s Bestival have announced a brand new stage for the 2014 event called Reggae Roots.

The new stage will be dedicated to the myriad flavours of reggae from ska, rocksteady and ragga to dub, dancehall and junglist riddims.

Bestival regulars REGGAE ROAST, TAYO and JIM8TRACK will be residents throughout the weekend.

The main stage line-up for South London’s Lambeth Country Show 2013 can now be revealed including headliner MAX ROMEO.

The Jamaican roots reggae veteran will top the bill alongside CORNELL CAMPBELL, SOOTHSAYERS, NATTY, LEE THOMPSON SKA ORCHESTRA and MANASSEH SOUND SYSTEM.

TOOTS AND THE MAYTALS live at the 100 Club in London

Constantly touring Jamaican band TOOTS AND THE MAYTALS performed at the legendary 100 Club this week (8 August) as part of the Converse Represent series of shows.

The once in a lifetime gig was about as rammed as it could possibly get and with the air con seemingly packing up mid-show, the bands throughout the night were generating uncomfortable levels of heat.

Pioneering Jamaican band TOOTS AND THE MAYTALS will perform at the 100 Club next month as part of the Converse 'Represent' series of shows and an extensive UK tour.

The intimate show at the famous London venue is part of a wider tour of the UK throughout August taking in gigs in Glasgow, Liverpool and Brighton, among many others.

The first round of acts was announced earlier this month, including the likes of ALBOROSIE, TANYA STEPHENS and THE SKATALITES.

BOB MARLEY birthday show in London tonight featuring NATTY & others

Marley’s Mellow Mood is tonight (6 February) hosting a show featuring rising UK reggae artist NATTY at the 100 Club to celebrate the life of BOB MARLEY.

Tickets for the London gig are priced at £5 and will only be available on the night.
