U-ROY to play 100 Club in London

Jamaican vocalist U-ROY will perform again in London this summer with a special show alongside Leicester reggae band BY THE RIVERS.

The show takes place on 5 July at the 100 Club on Oxford Street with tickets priced £17.50 in advance.

In 1991 U-ROY put out an album called True Born African, produced by MAD PROFESSOR.


BY THE RIVERS reveals full October tour

Leicester ska and reggae band BY THE RIVERS has announced an eight-date tour around the UK this October.

The six-piece group will  take in the following shows:


Ska acts added to Larmer Tree Festival

Top ska bands THE BEAT, BY THE RIVERS and CHAINSKA BRASSIKA are among the latest additions to the Larmer Tree Festival this summer.

The new acts join previously announced headliner and Jamaican music legend JIMMY CLIFF.

The festival takes place on 15-19 July at Larmer Tree Gardens in Tollard Royal, Wiltshire. Tickets cost £240 for five days.

THE SELECTER reveals support acts for 2014 tour

2Tone ska band THE SELECTER has announced the support acts for its ‘Too Much Pressure 2014 UK Tour’ next year.

The group is looking forward to welcoming roots reggae legends TALISMAN, ska/reggae upstarts BY THE RIVERS, and rock n' soul band STONE FOUNDATION to the stage.

The organisers behind the London International Ska Festival have revealed the latest additions to their 2014 event: BY THE RIVERS and THE TROJANS.

Formed in spring 2010 by Leicester friends out of a love of reggae, BY THE RIVERS has wasted no time in establishing itself as one of the UK's brightest hopes.


THE SKINTS added to LeeFest line-up

UK reggae band THE SKINTS will close the main stage at South London’s LeeFest next month.

The band will join rising Leicester ska band BY THE RIVERS along with headliners NOISETTES and DELPHIC.

LeeFest is held on a small working farm, Highams Hill Farm, just on the outskirts of Bromley and Croydon in Kent.

Folkestone Ska Splash warm-up shows this week: Brixton and Folkestone

The organisers behind the Folkestone Ska Splash have two more warm-up shows this week in the run up to their main event later this summer.

On 4 April the tour will come to Brixton Jamm in South London with THE DUALERS, DUBTONIK, BY THE RIVERS, DJs BOY ABOUT TOWN and SEAN BRIGHT.

The organisers of Folkestone Ska Splash have confirmed the line-up of artists for the 2013 event including THE SKATALITES, THE BEAT and THE SELECTER.


THE SPECIALS live in Cheltenham: fan-filmed video available

British ska band THE SPECIALS performed a long-overdue gig in Gloucestershire last night as part of a 15-date tour of the UK. Fan-filmed footage of “Monkey Man” can be seen below.

The Coventry band reformed in 2009 and had, up until now, kept fans in the West waiting more than 30 years for a local show.

The gig took place at Cheltenham Racecourse and was also something of a homecoming for guitarist Lynval Golding who grew up in Gloucester.


THE SPECIALS kick off UK tour

British 2 Tone ska band THE SPECIALS have kicked off a 15-date tour of the UK in what many fear will be their last ever.
