2Tone ska band THE SPECIALS will tour the UK throughout October and November this year.

At the end of last year original SPECIALS drummer John Bradbury passed away just months after trombonist Rico Rodriguez died.

SPECIALS bassist HORACE PANTER brings his all-star UPTOWN SKA COLLECTIVE to Devon for a rare visit.

The show takes place on 28 May at the New Hall in Tiverton with tickets priced at £15 in advance.

Redcar Ska Festival line-up heats up

2Tone ska singer TERRY HALL of THE SPECIALS is set to DJ on the first night of Redcar Ska Festival this April.

The charity fundraising event, in aid of the Specialized Project, takes place at Coatham Memorial Hall in Redcar on 22-23 April.

John Bradbury of THE SPECIALS passes away

Drummer John “Brad” Bradbury of classic 2Tone ska band THE SPECIALS has passed away at the age of 62.

Bradbury joined THE SPECIALS in 1979 and played with the band up until his death.

The Coventry band tweeted the news: “It is with deep regret that we say goodbye to our great friend, the world's greatest drummer, our beloved Brad. RIP.”

Legendary trombonist RICO RODRIGUEZ has passed away at the age of 80 following a short illness in a hospital.

THE SPECIALS to play Mouth Of The Tyne 2015

British ska legends THE SPECIALS have been announced as a headline act for the 2015 Mouth of the Tyne Festival.

The show takes place on 11 July 2015 and tickets are now on sale priced at £40 plus fees.

JERRY DAMMERS wins Ivor Novello award

Coventry’s JERRY DAMMERS, founding member of THE SPECIALS and the 2Tone label, has been given an ‘Inspiration Award’ at the 59th Ivor Novello Awards in London.

Former CLASH guitarist Mick Jones presented Dammers with his award and described him as “the Tsar of Ska”.

Dammers said the idea of protest music was still thriving.

Two founding members of THE SPECIALS - NEVILLE STAPLE and HORACE PANTER - are among the latest additions to the Godiva Festival in Coventry.

2Tone ska legends THE SPECIALS have announced plans for a 10-date tour of the UK in May next year.

The run of dates kicks off at Glasgow Barrowland on 10 May and finishes up at London's O2 Academy Brixton on 28 May.

Frontman Terry Hall had claimed that he no longer wanted to play live shows with THE SPECIALS and indicated that their 2011 show at London Alexandra Palace would be their last.

Bristol VegFest: NEVILLE STAPLE, TALISMAN & JOHNNY CLARKE

The people of Bristol turned out in their thousands for the 10th annual VegFest over the weekend, helped by the heatwave weather, free entry and top headline reggae acts.

Original rude boy NEVILLE STAPLE from 2Tone ska band THE SPECIALS topped the bill on Friday night and in spite of a crackling vocal microphone throughout, he delivered the goods.

The London International Ska Festival returns to the capital this weekend and features 40 top ska acts from around the world.

Among the many highlights of the bank holiday weekend (3-6 May), DANDY LIVINGSTONE is set to play his world exclusive comeback show after 40 years on 4 May at the O2 Academy Islington.

THE SPECIALS live in Cheltenham: fan-filmed video available

British ska band THE SPECIALS performed a long-overdue gig in Gloucestershire last night as part of a 15-date tour of the UK. Fan-filmed footage of “Monkey Man” can be seen below.

The Coventry band reformed in 2009 and had, up until now, kept fans in the West waiting more than 30 years for a local show.

The gig took place at Cheltenham Racecourse and was also something of a homecoming for guitarist Lynval Golding who grew up in Gloucester.
