Lambeth Country Show reveals top reggae acts

The main stage acts for the Lambeth Country Show can now be revealed including Jamaican reggae musicians JOHNNY CLARKE, LITTLE ROY and STYLO G.

Also appearing on Sunday will be ska band CHAINSKA BRASSIKA featuring NATTY.

Saturday acts include THE CORRESPONDENTS and YOLANDA BROWN who is currently touring with ‘Reggae Love Songs’ along with a full band.


Top reggae acts for Eden Festival 2016

CONGO NATTY, GENTLEMAN'S DUB CLUB and HOLLIE COOK are among the acts set to play Eden Festival this summer.

The festival also features CHANNEL ONE, MUNGO'S HI-FI and STYLO G, among many others.

Eden takes place on 9-12 June at Raehills Meadows near Moffat in Scotland with adult weekend tickets starting at £95.


Jamaica dominates MOBO reggae nominations

The nominees for the Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards can now be revealed, including five Jamaicans in the 'Best Reggae Act' category.

The shortlist includes the following artists:


STYLO G picks up Best Reggae MOBO Award

British dancehall artist STYLO G has won a MOBO Award in the ‘Best Reggae’ category at this year’s big Wembley Arena event.

STYLO G, who was born in Jamaica, has continued gaining attention in the underground urban scene since his arrival to the UK in the late 1990s.

The shortlist for the Music of Black Origin (MOBO) ‘Best Reggae Act’ award can now be revealed.

The shortlist includes the following acts:


Love Saves The Day 2014 line-up revealed

The first acts can now be revealed for Bristol’s Love Saves The Day including GENTLEMAN'S DUB CLUB, STYLO G and MS DYNAMITE, among many others.

The big show takes place on 24-25 May in Castle Park, Bristol, with early bird tickets priced at just £25.

Jamaican reggae and dancehall artist MR VEGAS has announced more dates on his upcoming visit to the UK with shows in Bristol and Birmingham.


STYLO G ‘Soundbwoy’ out next week; plus Guardian interview

London-based dancehall artist STYLO G is set to release his new Soundbwoy EP at the end of next week and was yesterday featured in The Guardian newspaper.

Soundbwoy will be released on 26 May, but you can pre-order it from iTunes.

FREDDIE MCGREGOR heads up the UK’s One Love Festival

Jamaican singer FREDDIE MCGREGOR will headline the One Love Festival that takes place on 10-12 August at Hop Farm in Kent.

MCGREGOR will be joining previously announced acts DAWN PENN and DENNIS ALCAPONE, as well as FRANKIE PAUL, MACKA B, STYLO G, THE DUALERS, plus many more. 


One Love Peace Festival line-up revealed: BUNNY WAILER, BARRINGTON LEVY, CAPLETON & DIDDY

The line-up for London’s One Love Peace Festival can now be revealed, featuring top reggae artists BUNNY WAILER, BARRINGTON LEVY and CAPLETON, among many others.

Other highlights of this year's festival include performances from LUCIANOKHAGOI-OCTANE, STYLO G and DIDDY


No Ice Cream Sound: Issue 3 now available

The third issue of dancehall fanzine No Ice Cream Sound has landed and features exclusive interviews with STYLO G, POPCAAN, MUNGO’S HIFI and YOUNG WARRIOR.

Top 10 Valentine reggae nights in the UK 2012 has taken a look at the top reggae and dancehall Valentine parties that are happening across the UK later this month. 

Valentine's Day is straddled between two weekends this year, so the following list includes shows taking place over nine days in mid-February.

JOHN HOLT, one of the forerunners of lovers rock, is expected to perform at half of the featured shows.

MAVADO cancels all shows in the UK; no official reason given

All shows that were scheduled in the UK this month featuring MAVADO, CHIPMUNK, GAPPY RANKS and STYLO G, have been cancelled.

The promoter for the high-profile tour has yet to give an official reason why such action was taken so close to the tour kicking off. Some websites have attributed the cancellation “due to illness”, while another has said they wouldn't give MAVADO a visa to enter the UK.
