GAPPY RANKS to perform in Oxford next month

British dancehall and reggae artist GAPPY RANKS will perform next month at the Art Bar in Oxford.

The show takes place on 29 November from 10pm through to 3am, with tickets priced at £10 in advance.

Music on the night will be supplied by WHITE MAGIC SOUND playing the best in reggae and dancehall music, followed by a live performance from GAPPY RANKS.


GAPPY RANKS reveals 2014 show in Manchester

Reggae artist GAPPY RANKS will perform at Band On The Wall in Manchester next year following the release of his new album Shining Hope.

The London-based artist, together with full live group THE SOUL REBEL BAND, will be in Manchester on 21 February with tickets priced at £14 in advance.


New GAPPY RANKS album plus shows in London & West Midlands

UK reggae/dancehall artist GAPPY RANKS has released a new album, Shining Hope, and will be performing live next month in London and the West Midlands.

Shining Hope is the singer’s third album and it contains 14 powerful reggae tracks with no dancehall or hip hop influence.


Bristol venue revealed for BERES HAMMOND, TARRUS RILEY & ROMAIN VIRGO show

The “Biggest Reggae Show of the Year” comes to Bristol next week (11 October) at the Dolman Exhibition Hall, Bristol City Football Stadium.

The show has been upgraded from Cardiff University Students’ Union to the larger Ashton Gate venue in South Bristol.

GAPPY RANKS puts out new video: Wine Pon De Edge

UK reggae artist GAPPY RANKS has put out a brand new video for the track “Wine Pon De Edge”.

The official video was directed by Andre of Crystal Visuals and the song is taken from the Harlesden singer’s Bedroom Bully EP.


Top 10 Valentine reggae nights in the UK 2012 has taken a look at the top reggae and dancehall Valentine parties that are happening across the UK later this month. 

Valentine's Day is straddled between two weekends this year, so the following list includes shows taking place over nine days in mid-February.

JOHN HOLT, one of the forerunners of lovers rock, is expected to perform at half of the featured shows.

MAVADO cancels all shows in the UK; no official reason given

All shows that were scheduled in the UK this month featuring MAVADO, CHIPMUNK, GAPPY RANKS and STYLO G, have been cancelled.

The promoter for the high-profile tour has yet to give an official reason why such action was taken so close to the tour kicking off. Some websites have attributed the cancellation “due to illness”, while another has said they wouldn't give MAVADO a visa to enter the UK.


New MAVADO single featuring AKON

Dancehall artist MAVADO is set to release a new single later this year in collaboration with hip-hop star AKON,

According to local sources the single, “On Top Of The Mountain”, will be released close to Christmas day, and will also feature new label mate, DJ KHALED.

The track is set to be the debut single from MAVADO’s upcoming, as yet unnamed 14-track album, which is nearing completion.



Jamaican musician MAVADO has announced two big live shows in the UK, featuring UK rapper CHIPMUNK with support from dancehall artists STYLO G and GAPPY RANKS.

The dates are:

  • 10 Dec - Aston Villa Leisure Centre, Birmingham
  • 11 Dec - O2 Brixton Academy, London

Earlier this year the 'Gully God' released his “Every Gyal” single that was recorded with CHIPMUNK.

FREDDIE McGREGOR live in the UK: Fan-filmed video

Jamaican singer FREDDIE McGREGOR hit the stage last night at the Malcolm X Centre in Bristol. Fan-filmed video footage is now available below.

The legendary performer was backed by the RUFF CUTT BAND and support came from UK reggae artist GAPPY RANKS.

UK reggae artist GAPPY RANKS has released a new video for the track "The Road" taken from his recent Thanks & Praise album.

The track is produced by Clement/Animal Sons and the video is filmed and edited by Jojo.

VP Records’ JOEL CHIN shot dead

JOEL CHIN of VP Records was shot dead last night at his home in Stony Hill on the northern outskirts of Kingston, Jamaica.

Local reports reveal that CHIN was pounced upon by gunmen as he exited his car who shot him several times. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead this morning.

As the grandson of VP Records founders Pat and Vincent Chin, he was the person who originally signed SEAN PAUL to the label.


FREDDIE McGREGOR & GAPPY RANKS line up Bristol show

Jamaican singer/producer FREDDIE McGREGOR and rising UK reggae artist GAPPY RANKS have lined up a show next month in Bristol.

Backed by the RUFF CUTT BAND, the two will hit the stage on 23 September at the Malcolm X Centre in St Pauls.

Music will also be supplied by QUALITEX with FADA SOLJIE, DJ FLAMES, MADHOUSE and DR FLEX.
