Jamaicans dominate Grammy reggae shortlist

Four Jamaican acts have been shortlisted in the ‘Best Reggae Album’ category for the 2016 Grammy Awards.

The National Academy of Recording, Arts and Sciences revealed the nominees for the 58th annual Grammys yesterday.

The nominees are: 



Jamaican singer BARRINGTON LEVY has been hospitalised after contracting Dengue fever, a mosquito-borne tropical disease.

LEVY issued the following statement after cancelling a show in Los Angeles on Sunday:

“I apologise to all my fans who wanted to see me but i ain’t got no other choice than taking care of my health.”


BoomTown TrenchTown District revealed

STEPHEN MARLEY, SOJA and BARRINGTON LEVY are among the latest additions to this year’s BoomTown Fair TrenchTown District.

The festival takes place on 13-16 August at the Matterley Estate, near Winchester in Hampshire. Tier three tickets are priced at £155 for the weekend.

New BARRINGTON LEVY album: details revealed

Jamaican artist BARRINGTON LEVY is set to release a new album It's About Time - his most anticipated record since 1998's Living Dangerously.

While no official release date has been revealed, the Jamaica Observer is reporting that the new studio album will be released this week through Black Roses Entertainment.

WARRIOR KING returns with new studio album

Jamaican singer Mark Dyer, also known as WARRIOR KING, will put out his next studio album Tell Me How Me Sound in August.

The new record, his fourth so far, has been produced by Colin "Bulby" York and WARRIOR KING, with executive producing rights going to Tad Dawkins and Tad Dawkins Jnr.
