The first release of artists for Birmingham’s Reggae City festival can now be revealed including JOHNNY CLARKE with the DUB ASANTE BAND, THE SELECTER and HOLLIE COOK.

VYBZ KARTEL denied bail again

Jamaican dancehall artist VYBZ KARTEL, real name Adidja Palmer, has been denied bail again in relation to the murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams.

According to the Jamaica Gleaner his attorney, Valerie Neita Robertson, made the application; however prosecutor Joan Barnett opposed it. 

The deejay and his co-accused are expected to return to court on 27 May when the trial gets underway.

Witness no-show stalls VYBZ KARTEL murder trial

Jamaican dancehall artist VYBZ KARTEL, real name Adidja Palmer, has had yet another murder trial delayed following the no-show of witnesses in Kingston’s Home Circuit Court.

The Jamaica Gleaner reports the trial failed to get underway because of the unavailability of witnesses, who are refusing to cooperate with the prosecution.

ANTHONY B released from US jail after drugs bust

Jamaican reggae singer ANTHONY B, real name Keith Anthony Blair, was yesterday released from jail in Georgia, USA, just five days after being arrested for drug-related charges.

On 27 January state police pulled over the artist and several members of his band and road crew for a “window tint” violation on Interstate 75 in Houston County.
