Latest addition to London Intl Ska Festival

The London International Ska Festival has revealed the latest band to be added its 2016 event: UK ska legends ARTHUR KAY AND THE ORIGINALS.

The ska festival takes place on 24-27 March 2016 at various venues around the capital.

It already includes top acts such as JOHNNY OSBOURNE, U-ROY and STRANGER COLE.

Guardian puts out reggae playlist

The Guardian has put out a new reggae, dancehall and soca playlist featuring FACE T, POPCAAN and FARMER NAPPY.

Erin MacLeod has selected the following tracks this month from “Mi Nuh Trust Friend (Weh Fren Aguh)”, “Happy Street Riddim” by ONE ARMY ENTERTAINMENT and finishing up with “Everybody” by VYBZ KARTEL.

Birmingham reggae band UB40 featuring Ali, Astro and Mickey have announced a Labour Of Love UK tour in spring next year.

Early bird Bestival 2016 tickets go on sale

A limited number of early bird (phase two) tickets for Bestival 2016 are now on sale priced at £190 for the weekend.

Bestival takes place on 8-11 September 2016 at the Robin Hill Country Park on the Isle of Wight.

The organisers are offering a 34-week payment plan which means an adult ticket can now be bought with an initial £25 deposit followed by 33 weekly payments of around £5.

Glastonbury 2016 ticket price confirmed

Tickets for Glastonbury Festival 2016 have been confirmed at £228 plus £5 booking fee per ticket and postage.

Online registration is free of charge and will close at 9am on 29 September.

Festival-goers must be registered before this date if they intend to book tickets in either the coach or general admission sales in October. Tickets go on sale at 9am on 4 October.

Tickets for the 2015 event sold out in less than 26 minutes.

Live review: MADNESS at the County Ground

London ska legends MADNESS stopped in Bristol last week for an epic performance at the County Ground.

The show featured on the final leg of the band’s Grandslam Tour of major sporting venues around the UK.

Unfortunately the home of Gloucestershire County Cricket Club suffered poor sound quality and a lack of atmosphere on the night, but that didn’t stop thousands of ska nuts enjoying this rare occasion in the city.

Date set for Bath music venue re-opening

Moles nightclub and live music venue in Bath has confirmed it is re-opening on 27 November.

The venue has been closed since March 2014 after a fire caused by an electrical fault severely damaged the building.

LINTON KWESI JOHNSON lines up London performance

Dub poet LINTON KWESI JOHNSON will perform at a special event in London next month alongside LAWRENCE SCOTT and TANIKA GUPTA.

The evening takes place on 17 October at St John's Church in Archway, London.

Fans will have the rare opportunity of hearing him speak his poetry in his glorious, rich, musical, iconic voice.

The tickets on sale dates have been confirmed for Glastonbury 2016.

Glastonbury Festival takes place on 22-26 June 2016 at Worthy Farm at Pilton in Somerset.
