The Observer has carried out an interview with Jamaican reggae and dub legend LEE “SCRATCH” PERRY.

In typical off-the-wall fashion PERRY talks about vampires, why he's not eating “dead moooo” and 50 years of Jamaican independence.
Read the interview in full on the Guardian website.
Last week PERRY failed to show up onstage in London as part of the Respect Jamaica 50 series of shows at the IndigO2.
He was set to play on 25 July alongside RAS LAWI, JUNIOR MURVIN and MAD PROFESSOR.
No official explanation has been given yet for the no-show.
