Dancehall artist VYBZ KARTEL will now go on trial on 5 November in relation to the murder of Clive "Lizard" Williams.
The deejay, real name Adidja Palmer, is also charged with the murder of businessman Barrington “Bossy” Burton and will face that trial on 29 October.
Palmer has been in custody since September 2011.
As reported in the Jamaica Gleaner, he received bail in relation to the murder of Burton, but cannot take up the bond since he has been remanded in connection with the murder of Williams.
Palmer’s lawyer Valerie Neita-Robertson will make the bail application at some point between the two upcoming trial dates.
Earlier this month KARTEL published his first book 'Voice of the Jamaican Ghetto'. The official book launch took place across the street from the Horizon Remand Centre in Spanish Town where he has spent the last few months behind bars. Get your copy of the book from his official website.
He also has a new EP out called Amsterdam which includes the following tracks: “Bubble Hard”, “Summertime”, “Open Up”, “Bike Back” and “Dedication” - and is now available on iTunes.
The EP was put together by Adde Instrumentals/RR345 Muzik and distributed by 21st Hapilos Digital.
