Vintage Festival cancelled next month: added to Wilderness 2012

The Vintage Festival, which was due to take place from 13-15 July at the Boughton Estate in Northamptonshire, has been cancelled.

The festival was set to include BUSTER SHUFFLE, HOLLIE COOK, JUNIOR MURVIN, DON LETTS, PHOENIX CITY ALL-STARS and THE DELEGATORS, among many others, but low sales and the weather prevented it going ahead.

The event will move to be a ‘guest’ of the Wilderness festival in Oxfordshire on 10-12 August 2012.

However unfortunately a great deal of the musical content will be lost from the original Vintage schedule.

Existing Vintage Festival ticket holders will be offered the chance to exchange their tickets or claim a refund.

Here’s part of the official statement on the Vintage website:

"Following lower than expected ticket sales amidst a summer of much cultural competition, with regret, this year's Vintage Festival is sadly not able to operate as a stand-alone event. However, a fitting alternative has been agreed with the organisers of Wilderness Festival who have today offered to host an intimate and authentic incarnation of Vintage, as part of their own celebration within their Cornbury Park site in Oxfordshire."
