Plug pulled on ONE LOVE PEACE FESTIVAL: cancelled due to 'impact of the Olympics'

The One Love Peace Festival in the UK, which was set to take place on 15 July in London, has been canned following a lack of demand in tickets due of the Olympic Games.

All tickets for the Hackney event, which was set to include BUNNY WAILER, DIDDY, CAPLETON and BARRINGTON LEVY, will be refunded.

The official statement reads:

“It is with great disappointment that we announce the cancellation of this year's One Love Peace Festival. Due to the similar impact of the Olympic Games/London 2012 on other Summer festivals up and down the country, we too have been forced to rethink our scheduling during what us likely to be a saturated market of outdoor events. We look forward to returning in spectacular fashion and recreating the tropical fairground of our 2011 event and hope to welcome you all again. All tickets will be refunded from the buyer's point of sale.”

Last year the organisers didn’t have too many problems packing out Wembley Arena with a line-up including SHAGGY, SEAN PAUL and BUSTA RHYMES.

Hopefully we’ll see a bigger and better-organised event in 2013!
