Jamaican dancehall artist BUSY SIGNAL has been extradited to the US to face criminal charges in the state of Minnesota.
As reported in the Jamaica Gleaner the singer, whose real name is Glendale Gordon, was flown out of the island “under heavy police custody” shortly after 10am [local time].
A team of US marshals arrived in Jamaica on 18 June for Gordon, who recently waived his right to challenge extradition proceedings.
It has been alleged that Gordon was implicated in a 2002 narcotics offence and is being extradited for failing to appear before the court to answer charges.
Last month he was arrested at Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston after having been deported from the UK.
