TOOTS AND THE MAYTALS to make live return

Jamaican music legend TOOTS HIBBERT of TOOTS AND THE MAYTALS will return to the live music scene this summer following a three-year hiatus.

The singer will headline Groovin In The Park on 26 June at Roy Wilkins Park in Queens, New York, as confirmed via the Groovin’ Radio Facebook page.

HIBBERT was originally booked to perform at Groovin In The Park 2013 but pulled out after sustaining a head injury at the Dominion River Rock Festival.

He has not performed at a major music event since.

Last month HIBBERT settled a US$20m lawsuit he filed against the Dominion Riverrock organisers and started rescheduling live dates.

BERES HAMMOND has also been confirmed to perform at Groovin In The Park 2016.

Back in 2012 TOOTS AND THE MAYTALS put out Reggae Got Soul: Unplugged On Strawberry Hill.
