BUJU BANTON juror guilty of misconduct

Terri Wright, a juror in the trial of BUJU BANTON [real name Mark Myrie], has been found guilty of contempt of court for researching the case outside of court.

US district judge James S Moody Jr sentenced her to five months of probation and 40 hours community service. The judge also ordered her to research and write a report about the cost of the six-day trial.

Wright was part of a federal jury in Tampa that found the Jamaican singer guilty of drug conspiracy and firearms charges back in 2011. He was later sentenced to 10 years in prison.

The judge told Wright she wilfully violated his order not to research the case.

According to the court took testimony from Chris Sweeney, a former Miami New Times reporter, who suggested in 2012 that Wright might have disobeyed a judge's order not to research the case.

Wright told the reporter that when testimony had ended each day, she returned to her car, wrote down notes to keep things fresh in her mind, and then went home and researched the case.

In 2010 prior to the trial BUJU BANTON put out a studio album called Before The Dawn.
