DAVID RODIGAN hosts new BBC reggae series

British radio DJ DAVID RODIGAN will from this evening host a brand new series on BBC Radio 2 dedicated to reggae music.

The series of ten, hour long, reggae shows will air every Thursday evening (starting with tonight) and will be a “reflection of all that is great in traditional reggae, stretching back across 5 decades to its beginnings as in Jamaica whilst also targeting the very latest of the new releases”, according to RODIGAN's website.

The sound system selector said:

“I am very excited to be presenting this series of reggae shows on BBC Radio 2, which is the biggest radio station in the UK. In essence, the programmes will reflect all that is great about Jamaican popular music, stretching back over the past 50 years, from ska to rock steady and reggae, and also introducing new and recent hits.“

RODIGAN started his radio career in 1978 at BBC Radio London and went on to do reggae shows on Capital Radio and Kiss 100 in London.

The radio show airs at 11pm GMT - you can access it by visiting the Radio 2 website.
