LINTON KWESI JOHNSON lines up London performance

Dub poet LINTON KWESI JOHNSON will perform at a special event in London next month alongside LAWRENCE SCOTT and TANIKA GUPTA.

The evening takes place on 17 October at St John's Church in Archway, London.

Tickets cost £7 in advance.

Fans will have the rare opportunity of hearing him speak his poetry in his glorious, rich, musical, iconic voice.

In the early 1960s, coming to London from Jamaica, LKJ developed his work, impressing and inspiring all who heard him with his unique style of ‘reggae poetry’.

In 1998 Universal put out Independant Intavenshan. Virtually every track LKJ and DENNIS BOVELL's superb dub band ever released for the Island label is here, with nearly every poem followed by its dub, or instrumental, version.
