LONDON INTL SKA FEST kicks off this week

The London International Ska Festival returns to the capital later this week (17-20 April) with 50 acts from around the world across 15 bespoke events at famed and iconic London venues.

Headline acts include Jamaican legends HORACE ANDY, DERRICK MORGAN, KEITH & TEX (making their debut UK appearance) and KEN PARKER, plus MAD PROFESSOR, DENNIS BOVELL and JAZZ JAMAICA.

Venues include the lawns of the Victoria & Albert Museum, Prince Charles cinema in Leicester Square (screening MADNESS' 1981 'Take It or Leave It' film), the Dixie Queen Thames cruise, and Camden Town's Jazz Cafe, Dingwalls, Barfly, The Forge and Electric Ballroom.

The festival was originally launched back in 1988 and proudly showcases ska from its roots in rhythm & blues, mento and calypso, through the Jamaican originators and on into rocksteady, reggae, dub, 2Tone, ska-punk and beyond.
