The trial of Jamaican dancehall artist MAVADO has been postponed on the same day that VYBZ KARTEL’s second murder case was transferred to the Circuit Court.
According to the Jamaica Observer, a shortage of court rooms at the Montego Bay Resident Magistrates Court forced the postponement of MAVADO’s (David Brooks) trial earlier today (13 March).
Brooks’ trial started last week, but has now been put off until 23 April.
He is facing charges of "malicious destruction of property" and assault arising from an incident in rural St James in July last year.
Meanwhile VYBZ KARTEL’s second murder trial has been transferred to the Home Circuit Court.
KARTEL, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, and two co-accused appeared today in the Gun Court Division of the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court.
According to the Observer, the matter has been postponed until 21 March at which time the case is expected to be transferred.
Palmer has been jointly charged for the July murder of Gregory Park resident Barrington 'Bossie' Bryan.
The singer and another group of men are also set to appear in the Home Circuit Court on 15 March in relation to the murder of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams on 16 August.
