LEE PERRY and EARL SMITH get Jamaican honours

Legendary musicians LEE “SCRATCH” PERRY and EARL “CHINNA” SMITH are among eight Jamaicans to be awarded Musgrave medals at a ceremony in Kingston later this month.

As reported in the Jamaica Observer the pioneering producer Perry and guitarist Smith will be presented the gold and silver Musgrave medals, respectively.

The Musgrave Award, first awarded in 1897, is one of the oldest of its kind in the Western Hemisphere. 

The ceremony is set to take place at the Institute of Jamaica (IOJ) on 16 October.
