BILLY OCEAN on BBC Breakfast: New album and full tour details

Eighties pop/R&B sensation BILLY OCEAN has appeared on BBC Breakfast to promote the release of his new album and imminent UK tour.

The British/Trinidadian rasta talks about his new record Here You Are [Aqua Music] and what he has planned for the future, including headline slots at 80s revival festivals Rewind in Henley and Let's Rock Bristol!

The singer's new 10-track album features songs that have influenced him over the years, including BOB MARLEY’s “No Woman, No Cry” and new single “Having a Party” - a reggae spin on the SAM COOKE classic.

In a recent interview with The Voice newspaper, Ocean said rastafari became his “anchor”, but that his parents would “freak” if they knew he was a rasta.

"They wouldn’t believe it because they still had the slave mentality," he said.

Check out the full interview on The Voice website.

A longer BBC interview with Clare Balding is also available, which features Ocean talking about his music career and faith in more detail.
