Cops caught on camera taking KARTEL bribe

Six Jamaican police officers are facing corruption charges after allegedly getting caught on video taking money from a relative of jailed dancehall artist VYBZ KARTEL.

According to the Jamaica Observer, investigators from the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) followed one of the policemen from the Gun Court Remand Centre to the home of a close relative of Adidja Palmer (KARTEL), where he was caught receiving money.

The video evidence also showed one police officer accepting money from a suspect in one of KARTEL's murder cases in exchange for being allowed to visit him behind bars.

Palmer, who is currently facing two separate murder charges, has been in jail since 3 October and was transferred to the Horizon Adult Remand Centre on Spanish Town Road following the recent incident.

The deejay, along with three others, has been charged with the murder of Clive 'Lizard' Williams that took place on 16 August in Havendale, St Andrew.

The prosecution claims to have video and telephone evidence in the case.

Palmer has also been charged with the murder of Barrington 'Bossie' Bryan in Gregory Park, Portmore, St Catherine in July.
