JIMMY CLIFF takes home Grammy Award with Rebirth

Jamaican music legend JIMMY CLIFF has walked away with the ‘Best Reggae Album’ Grammy Award for his latest record Rebirth, which is out on UMe/Sunpower.

Rebirth, his first new album for eight years, was recorded at The Sound Factory and Canyon Hut in California, and produced by Tim Armstrong of RANCID featuring backing band THE ENGINE ROOM.

CLIFF was up against the following shortlisted artists:

Last week his version of the Partridge Family theme song, "Get Happy", appeared in a Volkswagen ad during the Super Bowl.

The 55th annual awards took place on 10 February at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

ZIGGY MARLEY and DAMIAN “JUNIOR GONG” MARLEY also performed at the event in a segment dedicated to their father, BOB MARLEY. Barbadian singer RIHANNA, BRUNO MARS and STING also featured alongside the MARLEY brothers.
