DRE SKULL featured in The Guardian: ‘The new sound of dancehall’

The Guardian has published a feature on New York-based producer DRE SKULL looking at his career and recent work with VYBZ KARTEL, SNOOP LION and PUSHA T.

The newspaper asks how a performance artist from Brooklyn became one of dancehall's biggest new producers.

Over the last few years, he has created the backdrops for SNOOP DOGG's transformation into SNOOP LION, VYBZ KARTEL’s 2011 Kingston Story album, and an upcoming single with US hip hop artist PUSHA T.

The Guardian speaks about DRE SKULL’s “emotionally rich” dancehall tracks, and “latent melancholy and moodiness” of the Jamaican genre.
