BEENIE MAN gets Lifetime Achievement Award: video available

Jamaican dancehall artist BEENIE MAN, born Anthony Moses Davis, has received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the inaugural Reggae Rhythm & Blues festival in Queens, New York.

The award was presented by US congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke, born to Jamaican immigrant parents, in Roy Wilkins Park on 4 September.

The brief ceremony included a video celebrating the "King of the Dancehall's" milestones in the music industry.

Reggae Rhythm and Blues is an Irie Jam Media Group event and the above video was produced by BonJamTV, a brand that is owned by Revenge Media.

Other reggae stars on the bill included MAVADO, TARRUS RILEY, I-OCTANE and JOHN HOLT alongside soca artist MACHEL MONTANO.

The event also honoured the late VP Records executive Joel Chin for his contribution to the music industry.
