ANTHONY B live at the Lambeth Country Show; plus big show lined up next month

Jamaican reggae artist ANTHONY B wowed the people of South London on Sunday (16 September) with a stunning performance at the Lambeth Country Show.

The “Original Fire Man from Trelawny” topped the bill at the annual Brockwell Park show and showed he’s still got the fire burning.

Here's a fan-filmed video clip of the lively performance:

Prior to the show ANTHONY B told the Bexley Times: “I haven’t played in Brixton before, but it’s beautiful.

“Well that was my first feeling when I heard about being part of this event. I feel wonderful – I’m honoured to be a part of it. It feels great and an honour to know Jamaica is being celebrated in Britain.”

It was also revealed over the weekend that following the release of his Freedom Fighter album in May and extensive 2012 touring schedule, ANTHONY B will be performing again in the UK on the 28 October at an undisclosed venue.

ANTHONY B is also set to appear at the Red Bull Culture Clash in Wembley Arena alongside CHANNEL ONE, MIKEY DREAD and RAS KAYLEB on 7 November.

Other stand out performances from the well-attended roots day at the LCS came from HOLLIE COOK, DENNIS BOVELL DUB BAND, PETER HUNNIGALE and JANET KAY.

In February Lambeth Council announced this year’s show would be cancelled because of the Olympics and Jubilee celebrations. However it was forced to reverse the unpopular decision and reinstate the festival in September after a grass-roots campaign gathered momentum.

The Lambeth Country Show 2013 is set to take place on 20-21 July.
