SIZZLA on the mend following hit-and-run

Miguel Collins, better known as reggae artist SIZZLA, is now fully aware, talking and eating in hospital five days after he was involved in a motorcycle accident in St Ann, Jamaica.

According to local reports the singer is resting well after suffering serious injuries including broken arms and ribs, a fractured collar bone and ruptured liver which caused extensive internal bleeding.

Last week SIZZLA was thrown from his motorcycle after it was hit by a bus attempting to overtake along Runaway Bay. The bus driver then failed to stop at the scene of the accident and has yet to turn himself in.

SIZZLA, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, underwent emergency surgery at St Ann's Bay Hospital. After being stabilised he was then airlifted to an unspecified corporate area hospital in Kingston.

The reggae singer, known for hits such as "Black Woman and Child", "Solid as a Rock" and "Thank You Mama" released his 65th album The Scriptures earlier this summer.
